Wiktenauer - Wiktenauer is an ongoing collaboration among researchers and practitioners from across the Western martial arts (WMA) community, seeking to collect all of the primary and secondary source literature that makes up the text of historical European martial arts (HEMA) research and to organize and present it in a scholarly but accessible format. The Wiktenauer project started in 2009, later receiving sponsorship from the HEMA Alliance, and is named for Johannes Liechtenauer, grand master of the oldest known longsword fencing style; his tradition was also the best-documented of the early Modern era, the subject of many dozens of manuscripts and books over a period of more than three centuries.

The HEMA Shop - The HEMA Shop is the UK’s largest retailer of HEMA equipment. Their own Red Dragon range of synthetic weapons, masks, and gloves are particularly well-suited for those students who are just beginning their own HEMA journey. They are also the UK distributor for SPES protective gear, which remains the industry standard for blunt steel weapon sparring. Member students of SHC receive a club disount when buying Red Dragon kit from the HEMA Shop!

Regenyei Armory - Peter Regenyei is not only one of Europe’s top bladesmiths for the HEMA community, he is an excellent fencer and instructor as well! Regenyei Armory blunt steel feders are the weapon of choice for most longsword practitioners in the UK and the rest of Europe. Their prices are affordable, their production times are reasonable, and their customer service is great! School of Historical Combat use Regenyei feders as our official “club kit” weapons for longsword training.
